The role of women in political life during the Almoravids era (448-541 AH / 1056-1147 AD)

Abstract

Women reached a great position during the Almoravid era and were with men step by step in various fields of life - especially in the political aspects of the Almoravid state - not to compete with him, but to help and support him and to bear the hardships of life with him. Almoravid society guaranteed women their rights, and never deprived them of any right. Rather, he gave her priority and relied on her in many matters, and the woman, for her part, did not let her society down, but rather was supportive of it, giving as she took in a wonderful Almoravid epic. Among the rights that society guaranteed to women during the era of the Almoravid state: the right to political participation, so she intervened in the affairs of government and participated in Fighting and in wars with men, Almoravid women also contributed to the task of assuming positions, dismissing them, and even consulting on administrative matters related to the state.
