Abstract
The study aimed to identify the level of post-traumatic stress disorder among a sample of students from the University of Derma, as well as to identify the differences in post-traumatic stress disorder according to type. The sample consisted of 115 male and female students, randomly selected from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Derna during the academic years 2023. Davidson scale (1987) for post-traumatic stress disorder was used to measure the students’. The results of the study indicated that the students who lived through the moments of the flood felt the traumatic experience in the first place, and they felt thoughts that reminded them of the traumatic event highly. Moreover, they felt difficulties in concentrating, bouts of tension and anger, and difficulty in falling or staying asleep. The study showed no statistically significant differences related to type in all dimensions of the scale
