Abstract

The research discusses an issue that has puzzled the grammarians of the two schools: (Basri and Kufi), and they differed on it clearly, which is the issue of the verb of astonishment (af`ala) between nominalism and verbalism, where the Basrans see it as a verb, and evidence and proofs have been reported from the Arabs confirming the correctness of their opinion, while the Kufians see it as a noun, and evidence has also been reported to support what they have gone to. As for the formula (af`il bihi), the grammarians of the two schools agreed on its verbalism, so this will not enter the scope of the research, and this research highlights the depth of the rational and logical analysis of the induction of the Arabic language, and the ability of grammarians to analyze and then deduce rulings and establish .grammatical rules
