Abstract
This study explores the critical views presented by the critic Ali ibn Abdul Aziz al- Jurjani in his book Al-Wasita (The Mediation) between Al-Mutanabbi and his adversaries. It focuses on the key critical issues he addressed in his work and the poetic evidence he provided to clarify his ideas. Al-Jurjani raised numerous critical topics that are fundamental to both ancient and modern literary criticism. However, this research will concentrate on the issues that have been widely discussed by other critics of his era, allowing for a comparison of his opinions with those of his contemporaries, and examining the influence he had on later critics. The selected topics include the concept of the "column of poetry," the issue of poetic theft, and the themes of exaggeration and hyperbole. This will involve outlining the views of earlier critics on these matters, followed by an explanation of Al-Jurjani's perspective, along with a discussion of the poetic evidence he used to support his arguments.
