Abstract
Domestic violence, in general, is one of the manifestations of the social imbalance that builds up among family members, especially when it is directed towards the child, whether it touches him physically, verbally, psychologically, or physically. As a result of multiple factors, whether personal or environmental, or both, which makes him feel insecure and unstable, which negatively affects his compatibility with the surroundings and the environment in which he lives. Which necessitates preventive intervention on the part of specialists in the social service to protect the child from exposure to domestic violence in all its forms, and since the preventive approach that takes care of the healthy before the sick, Through a set of measures taken to reduce the severity of personal and social problems, and reduce antisocial, abnormal and deviant behavior, this research came to identify domestic violence, its causes and forms, and the most important manifestations of violence against children, And the importance of the effectiveness of using the preventive approach in the social service to protect the child from domestic violence, and to achieve these goals, the research relied on the descriptive approach to analyze the subject, And relying on theoretical frameworks and some previous studies related to child protection from domestic violence, the research reached a set of conclusions, including: That domestic violence directed against the child directly affects him physically, psychologically and socially, causing a defect in the formation of his personality and his adaptation to the surrounding environment, And that the use of the preventive approach to social service contributes to reducing the aggravation of the problem of domestic violence against children, and the importance of this approach in saving time, effort and costs, During professional practice to avoid the occurrence of this phenomenon, and protect the child from exposure to domestic violence in all its forms.
