Résumé

 Few studies have examined the self-efficacy of foreign language students and more precisely research has focused on the relationship between self- efficacy and the academic achievement of language students. Due to the fact that, understanding students’ perceptions and their beliefs is significant for the reason that the focus of education has shifted from a teacher-directed to learner-oriented classroom. The aim of this research is to investigate the selfefficacy of the students in relation to their achievement in English. Data of the current study are collected from the Questionnaire of English Self- Efficacy (QESE). Thirty three students from Azawiya University participated in this study. The results revealed that there is a positive correlation between self- efficacy and academic achievement in the English language.
