Analysis of psychopathic personality disorder traits in women according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR): A case study

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze psychopathic traits in women according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It was applied to two women aged between 46 and 59 years. The qualitative method was followed by using the case study method. The study tools consisted of the fifth diagnostic manual, the interview, and observation. The results showed that the prominent traits in psychopathic personality disorder in women are manifested in pathological lying, emotional coldness, irresponsibility, impulsivity, and lack of guilt. The study reached several recommendations, the most important of which is designing treatment programs aimed at developing empathy in psychopathic women.
