Main Article Content
Abstract
The Extent of Applying Green Chemistry Principles (Sustainability) by Secondary School Chemistry Teachers In yafran city:- This study aimed to investigate the extent to which school chemistry teachers apply green chemistry principles in schools. It also sought to identify the level of environmentally safe practices related to the use of chemicals in school laboratories and to determine the main challenges that may limit the implementation of green chemistry principles. The study adopted a descriptive research approach. A questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection from a sample of chemistry teachers in schools. The questionnaire included items related to several aspects of green chemistry application, including reducing the use of hazardous chemicals, minimizing chemical waste, improving laboratory safety practices, and promoting environmental awareness among students. The findings indicated that the level of chemistry teachers’ application of green chemistry principles was (to be determined according to the actual results). The results showed that safety practices and reducing chemical risks were among the most applied practices, while some areas, such as using environmentally friendly alternatives and managing chemical waste, require further improvement and support. Based on the findings, the study recommended providing continuous training programs for chemistry teachers, improving school laboratory facilities, and integrating green chemistry concepts into chemistry curricula to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable science education.
