Abstract
This research aimed to identify the characteristics of gifted and talented students, identify methods for identifying these students, and what are the appropriate strategies for accelerating and enriching this segment of students. This research required the use of the descriptive analytical approach, relying on exploration through educational and psychological sources and references that dealt with the subject of the gifted. The research reached several important conclusions that indicated that all acceleration strategies provided important academic benefits, and an improvement in the level of motivation and school performance, and obtaining specialized and professional training early. The strategies also produce early entry into university for the student, and help in raising the level of qualifications of outstanding students, and raising the level of self-esteem and the sense of achievement in the student.
