Abstract

The Fezzan region is considered a historical region, with a glorious past, and a history full of Islamic conquests and jihad against invaders, ancient and modern. It is one of the regions of Libya, and includes many cities and villages. Its people are predominantly Bedouin, and it is inhabited by separate tribes from the people of this country, which had the largest share of Resistance and jihad against French colonialism and colonialism Italian religious discourse played a prominent role in revitalizing the resistance movement against the colonialists, by motivating the mujahideen in mosques, scientific corners, and other vital centers. In this research, we talked about the Fezzan region and the most important and most prominent corners in it, which had a special character. In the jihad movement, there was also talk about a role Religious discourse in pushing resistance, mentioning examples from reality during the presence of the Italian occupation in the region. Among the results of this research was that the zawiyas played a major role in stabilizing the mujahideen and raising their resolve to confront the oppressive enemy, by encouraging them to receive the great reward from God, which is what It increased their strength and enthusiasm for jihad.
