Abstract
This research studied and analyzed the criticism published in the pages of the developed Libya magazine during the different period from 1935 to 1940 AD, its trends, its various methods, and the extent of its influence on the future literary movement. The research came with the following results: Talking about the emergence of the magazine and its content, and discussing three main sources of criticism, which are: Affective criticism, objective criticism, and linguistic criticism published in the magazine, then presenting examples of the criticism contained in the magazine, and presenting a table to list the critical articles published on the pages of the magazine. This study reached the most important results: Libya Illustrated magazine played a pivotal role in shaping Libyan critical awareness in the first half of the twentieth century. The magazine also showed a clear difference between affective and objective criticism, which reflects a development in the critical approach of its writers.
