Abstract

This research explores the role of critical thinking in developing various teacher skills. It adopts a descriptive-analytical approach through a review of literature and previous studies. The importance of critical thinking is highlighted in enabling teachers to meet the challenges of the digital and knowledge age and improving their abilities to analyze, make decisions, and solve problems effectively. The results indicate that critical thinking is an effective tool in developing higher cognitive and intellectual skills such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and reasoning, and contributes to enhancing teachers' intellectual independence and mental flexibility. The research also confirms that this style of thinking supports effective communication skills, which benefits the learning environment. It is recommended to adopt interactive educational methods such as problembased learning, concept maps, and brainstorming to enhance critical thinking. Despite its importance, the application of critical thinking faces challenges, including the rigidity of traditional teaching methods, a lack of teacher training, and limited study time. The study emphasizes the need to address these challenges to ensure the continuous development of teachers' skills, which will positively impact the quality of the educational process and contribute to preparing a generation of students capable of critical thinking and lifelong learning.
