Abstract

The objective of the research was to identify the most significant problems facing school administration, whether related to the administration itself (the principal), teachers, or students, and to understand the means to overcome these problems encountered by school principals in educational institutions. This is because school administration, like any other administrative function, suffers from multiple and diverse problems during the performance of its duties. The research adopted the descriptive approach and reached several findings, including: school administration is a structured and integrated whole, both in terms of human and material resources, in which a set of executive and technical operations are interrelated and integrated. It incorporates a spirit of teamwork based on sound human relations, with the primary goal of developing students holistically—academically and behaviorally—through guidance and counseling and by instilling modern educational attitudes, as it is considered an educational institution. There are numerous administrative problems hindering school administration, the most influential of which is the weakness of human relations within the educational institution, in addition to the lack of response from the local community, particularly parents, as demonstrated by their reluctance to attend parent meetings and follow up on their children's academic progress. The research also found that one of the most effective ways to address the administrative problems faced by school principals is the activation of training programs to periodically and continuously enhance their leadership skills. The study recommends conducting similar research to identify all the challenges facing school administration at all educational levels. It emphasizes the importance of the education sector in overcoming all obstacles that hinder the administrative process in educational institutions, such as providing security during school periods and especially during final exams. Additionally, it highlights the importance of regularly training school administrative staff to equip them with professional (technical and administrative) skills to face challenges encountered during their work, and to keep pace with developments in educational technology by integrating technology into education.
