Conversational Implicature: Origin and Concept
Main Article Content
Abstract
Conversational entailment is the meaning inferred from a speaker's utterance in a specific context. This meaning is not explicitly stated, but rather the speaker implies what he or she means through the rules of conversational cooperation and certain linguistic principles. Consequential entailment is what the speaker does not say directly, but rather leaves it to the listener to understand through the context and the overall situation.
