Abstract

The prohibition of pork is one of the clear and unequivocal rulings in Islam, as both Qur’anic texts and Prophetic traditions unanimously forbid it explicitly. It has also been rejected by some other religions, whose followers viewed it as impure, in addition to the negative symbolism historically associated with it—even prior to the advent of Islam. Pork is considered among the impure and harmful substances that negatively affect human health, wealth, and morality. Modern medicine has revealed that consuming pork contains harmful substances that threaten human life and cause serious diseases that are difficult to treat. This highlights the profound wisdom behind its prohibition, as it carries evident harm and significant impurity. Contemporary medical studies continue to confirm these dangers, further reinforcing the stance of Islamic law on the matter.
