Abstract

The study explored the role of the Open University of Libya Library in developing support for the distance education program, through an applied study at the Open Libya Library. It also explored the development of the distance education program at the Open Libya Library, the identification of distance education programs at the Open Libya Library, the identification of new courses for specializations at the library, and the information services offered by the library within the framework of developing distance education support programs. It also identified the challenges facing library education in distance education programs, and the use of graphs to study the data learned. A comprehensive diagnostic approach was then adopted, which selected the study population and divided it into three categories: a common category for distance education, the institution's secretary, and the institution. The study concluded that the library's role in supporting distance education programs has been hindered by the absence of electronic services. It was discovered that the most important information services provided by the e-mail services institution for distance education programs are entirely provided by the public institution (books, periodicals, and theses). These services relate to issues related to the employee assigned as a regular student, with the absence of financial support and basic log-in within the institution. The study recommended further support from the various ministries of education and higher education institutions for the numerous libraries as it contains the basic elements and infrastructure for communications for information and communication technology and the bank's transformation from the traditional library to a digital library that contributes to the educational method in general and distance learning in particular.
