General Anxiety Levels among Students of the College of Arts at Al- Asmariya Islamic University

Abstract
The current research aims to study the level of general anxiety among students of the Faculty of Arts, Al-Asmariya Islamic University, Libya. The study aims to examine whether there are differences according to the gender variable (males/females), and according to the academic specialization variable. The study sample consisted of (151) male and female students, including (51 males/ 101 females) from the Faculty of Arts at Al-Asmariya Islamic University. To answer the research questions, the researcher presented a general anxiety scale consisting of seven items, using the comparative descriptive approach. The results showed a low level of the total score of the general anxiety scale among a sample of students of the Faculty of Arts at Al-Asmariya Islamic University. The research results also indicated the presence of statistically significant differences between males and females in general anxiety in favor of males, and there are no statistically significant differences in general anxiety according to the academic specialization variable.
