The Significance of the Linguistic Term According to Imam Al- Ghazali, d.505 AH, in “Al-Mustasfa Min Ilm Al-Usul”

Abstract
The study of terminology is one of the important studies in any field of knowledge, as terminology is the keys to science, and there is no way to enter any science without understanding its terminology, as the study of terminology is at the heart of lexical studies that take special dictionaries or what is called . Or what are called dictionaries of terms, and modern terminological studies have tended, in one of their aspects, to study, track, and investigate the terminology of the masters of the various sciences and arts. And to study the journey of the term across different fields, that is, to study the terms that are common between one science and another, as is the case, but not limited to, in the term “raf’”, as it is common between grammar and the principles of jurisprudence. Hence, this scientific paper will address the study of the term according to Imam al-Ghazali in Al-Mustastafa from several aspects, such as his method of presenting the term and how he used it in his book Al- Mustastafa. What is meant by the linguistic term in this paper is the generality of linguistic terms, whether grammatical, morphological, lexical, or phonetic terms. Or semantic, and all of this is considered a function of serving terminology in heritage books.
