Abstract

Training and motivation are among the most important elements of human resource development, influencing human performance improvement and quality, particularly in the educational sector. In this study, the impact of training and motivation on improving the quality of institutional performance is identified. Simultaneously, the impact of individual skills and capabilities on improving the performance of faculty members at the institution is studied. The descriptive analytical approach was used, where a questionnaire was distributed to a number of faculty members in the various specializations that specified in the study. The total number of distributed questionnaires was (110), of which (84) were returned and accepted. Results indicated that the importance rate of training element was about 60% with an average of (2.99), while the importance of motivation element was about 65% with an average of (3.26), which did not reach the percentage approved by the study. Moreover, the level of training supervised by the university does not keep pace with modern training developments. The study recommends allocating an independent, clear, and transparent budget for training that would benefit all colleges in lieu of travel expenses and bonuses. Also, establishing a special unit within the university which suggested to be called “Technological Qualification for Faculty Members”, as well as to develop a strategic vision for both training and motivation by the ministry of education which make help in improving the quality of performance.
