Abstract

The study addresses the issue of illegal migration and its impact on Libyan society from economic, social, and political dimensions. It highlights Libya's geographical position as a key gateway for migration to Europe, in addition to the repercussions of internal political crises and neighboring countries on the increasing flow of migrants.

The study found that illegal migration negatively affects the local labor market by raising unemployment rates and lowering wages. It also contributes to the growth of the informal economy, thereby weakening the national economy. Socially, this phenomenon creates tensions between local residents and migrants due to competition for resources and cultural differences

Furthermore, the study revealed that government policies remain unstable and poorly coordinated, limiting the effectiveness of migration management. The research concludes by recommending the development of a comprehensive national strategy based on international cooperation, achieving a balance between security and social stability, and respecting human rightsÆ
