The role of training in fostering creativity among employees – a field study on employees at the Bir al-Ghanam fine gypsum factory

Abstract

This study aimed to understand the role of training in achieving employee creativity, through a field study at the Bir al-Ghanam Fine Gypsum Factory. The study relied on a descriptive analytical approach and, using a questionnaire, collected data from a study sample of (60) male and female employees. Analyzing the data using the statistical analysis program (SPSS), the study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are: The demographic structure of the sample is characterized by a predominance of males and the middle age group, with a predominance of technical specializations. Training in the factory is characterized by a very high level of quality and organization, particularly in the selection of training methods and locations, and monitoring its impact on performance. The work environment is considered supportive of creativity in terms of positive relationships and freedom of expression of ideas, but it suffers from a lack of material incentives and continuous support for new ideas. Training has a strong moral impact in enhancing employee creativity, explaining a large portion of the variance in its level. Accordingly, the study recommended a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which were: enhancing the material aspects of the training process by providing modern equipment and advanced training plans, increasing material and moral incentives for those with creative ideas to ensure the sustainability of innovative initiatives, designing training programs that focus on developing creative skills and solving problems in innovative ways, utilizing the results of the decline in supporting training policies as a basic tool for raising the level of institutional creativity, and encouraging a culture of teamwork and effective sharing of ideas between the various disciplines in the factory.
