Additional Hadiths (Al-Zawa'id) from Ibn Abi al-Dunya's Book 'Dispraising Intoxicants' (Dhamm al-Muskir) Compared to the Six Books: A Collection and Analytical Study"

Abstract

This research examines the unique Marfu’ Hadiths in Ibn Abi al-Dunya's "Dham al-Muskir" as additions (Zawa'id) to the Six Books. Using inductive and analytical methods, the study of the six identified Hadiths revealed that two are Hasan li-ghayrihi (fair), three are severely weak or denounced (Munkar), and one is a Mauquf (stopped) report. The study emphasizes the need for Hadith criticism in behavioral literature, advising scholars to rely only on authentic narrations.
