Abstract

This study aims to investigate the use of technology and its impact on the mental and physical health of students at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Researchers employed a descriptive methodology, deemed most suitable for the nature of the research. The sample consisted of 53 undergraduate students from both genders and all academic years at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Tripoli. Key findings included: the majority of the sample were under 25 years old (96.2%); intensive daily and multi-purpose technology use (study and entertainment) among the sample; clear effects of technology on anxiety, stress, sleep problems, and social isolation; significant impact of technology on online relationships; common neck and back pain among the sample; sleep problems associated with prolonged device use; and clear negative physical effects of technology use, including reduced physical activity, physical pain, and sleep disturbances.
