Abstract

This research addresses the efforts of the Libyan government in developing and supporting the agricultural products industry during the royal era (1951 – 1969), within its historical context. The study discusses the state of the industry before independence, then examines the Libyan government's incentive measures after independence, presenting decrees and laws related to the development of the industrial sector, the establishment of the Ministry of Industry, and the Industrial Development Corporation. The research also covers development efforts through the Five-Year Development Plan (1963 – 1968), including the funding allocated to the industrial sector. The study then presents the impact of development policies and government support on the industry of certain agricultural products, concluding with a summary of the findings derived from this study.
