Spatial assessment of bakeries in Tobruk city using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to identify the geographical distribution patterns of bakeries in Tobruk in 2024 using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) by creating databases for the study area. The data included the astronomical locations of bakeries in the neighborhoods, the population of each neighborhood, and the analysis of this data using GIS software. The analysis included standard distance, distribution direction, neighborhood connection, and central location. The research concluded that the geographical distribution of bakeries follows a pattern (closely clustered but closer to random), with bakeries clearly concentrated in the central neighborhoods. This indicates that bakery owners seek to locate near population density and commercial activity. These bakeries are less common in the outlying neighborhoods and emerging areas, reflecting the influence of demographic, economic, and infrastructure factors on the distribution of this type of essential service.
