Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the concept of metaphor (Al-Isti‘arah) according to Al-Khattabi and Al-Rummani through their respective works, Bayan I‘jaz al-Qur’an and Al-Nukat fi I‘jaz al-Qur’an .It investigates their practical applications of metaphor to Quranic verses using a comparative and critical approach. The research highlights the divergence in their rhetorical perspectives, as well as the methodology and presentation style each author employed regarding this vital subject. The significance of this research stems from the prominence of the figures studied and their seminal works, which remain essential resources for any researcher in the field of rhetorical inimitability (I‘jaz). Furthermore, the study aims to consolidate the views of Al-Khattabi and Al-Rummani on this specific topic, clarify the distinctions between them, and identify the most effective methods of presenting the discourse on metaphor based on their writings.
