Abstract

This research examined the phenomenon of escalating behavioral problems in school environments, such as violence and withdrawal, and the inadequacy of traditional punitive approaches in addressing their psychological roots, namely unmet needs ،The study aims to analyze the philosophical foundations of Choice Theory and employ Reality Therapy techniques (specifically the WDEP model) to develop an integrative therapeutic framework suitable for the Arab educational context ،The research adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology based on critical review of the literature and previous studies, targeting the analysis of theoretical frameworks related to student behavior ،The analysis revealed that behavioral problems represent irresponsible choices to which students resort in order to satisfy their five psychological needs (survival, belonging, power, freedom, and fun) ،The study also presented a proposed applied model that accounts for cultural specificity, consisting of sequential processes beginning with diagnosis, proceeding through behavior evaluation, and concluding with treatment planning ،The study arrived at practical recommendations, most notably the necessity of shifting school policies from punitive control to promoting "responsible behavior," and training educational counselors in Reality Therapy mechanisms to bridge the gap between theory and practice in schools.
