Main Article Content
Abstract
This research examines the role of the social worker within the Libyan school context, the professional difficulties they encounter, and the dynamics of their relationships with others in the school environment. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study reviews relevant theoretical frameworks and previous research. Its significance lies in bridging the gap between the theoretical role and practical application, offering insights to enhance school social work services. The study addresses the core issue of the underutilization of this crucial role despite its potential in tackling student issues and improving the overall school climate. Key findings reveal the multifaceted nature of the social worker’s role, encompassing guidance, planning, and coordination. Significant organizational and socio-cultural obstacles hinder effective practice, and the success of their interventions is heavily dependent on the quality of their relationships with school administration, teaching staff, and students. Accordingly, the study proposes practical recommendations to strengthen this role, including clarifying job descriptions, providing adequate resources, offering continuous professional development, fostering community collaboration, and supporting further scientific research in this vital field.
