Work Stress Coping Strategies and Their Relationship to Employees’ Mental Health

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the coping strategies for work-related stress and their relationship with employees' mental health, amid increasing professional demands and organizational and technological changes. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a questionnaire administered to a simple random sample of 200 postgraduate students at the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies – Janzour. Data were analyzed using various statistical methods, including Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The results indicated a significant relationship between adopting positive coping strategies, such as positive reappraisal, social support, regular exercise, and effective work organization, and enhanced mental health and reduced work stress. Conversely, poor management, low income, and lack of attention to employees’ psychological well-being were found to increase occupational stress. The study concluded by recommending that organizations adopt effective strategies for coping with work stress, improve the work environment, and enhance attention to employees’ mental health to boost performance and productivity,
