Abstract
This study is entitled “The Aesthetics of the Poetic Image and Its Role in Clarifying Textual Meaning: Selected Models from the Collection Al-Badr Nisf Akhar by the Poet Abu Sari ‘Abd al-Sami‘ ‘Umar al-Mashhur.”
The concept of the poetic image has attracted considerable attention from writers and critics alike. In examining the nature of the image, the researcher encounters a set of perceptions and challenges that correspond to the stance adopted by the creative artist at the moment of creation. A variety of poetic images appear in the collection Al-Badr Nisf Akhar by the Libyan poet ‘Abd al-Sami‘ al-Mashhur, including the total or composite image, the flash (epigrammatic) poetic image, and the sensory image.
The primary objective of this study is to elucidate the importance of employing the poetic image in the poetry of the poet under consideration, to assess the extent of his ability to express lived reality through imagery, and to examine how such imagery is utilized in a manner consistent with the poetic experience and effectively conveyed to the reader.
