Manifestations of description in the short story collection '14 Stories from My City' by Kamel Hassan Al-Maqhur Dr. Salma Al-Ahmar Abdulqader Zubaida

Abstract

Description is a literary narrative technique that introduces characters, depicts settings, enhances the reader’s imagination, and creates a sense of realism by bringing fictional events closer to lived experience. This study aims to examine this technique in the short story collection Fourteen Stories from My City by the Libyan writer Kamal Al-Maghour.It investigates the use of description across the narrative elements of the collection, including characters, events, and settings, while also exploring the various functions that description perform within these stories.
