Tripoli-style Poem by the Sudanese Poet: Muhammad Said Al-Abbasi Thematic Reading
Main Article Content
Abstract
This is a study in literary criticism of the poem 'Al-Tarabulsiyya' by the Sudanese poet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi. It includes a thematic analysis of the poem and a critical treatment of its overall purpose. The study examines the poem's introduction, the epic vision it embodies, its most significant innovative features, and the symbolism of the sword and the call to national awakening. This poem represents a prominent example of 'commitment' in the critical sense, where poets tend to adhere to the spirit of national resistance, using poetry as a platform, even a weapon, for legitimate national struggle without compromising the poem's artistic and creative qualities. The poem also serves as evidence of the organic unity of the Islamic nation, where people across the disparate parts of the homeland rally around crucial issues.
