Abstract

The study aimed to identify the patterns of social media use among media students and examine the extent to which social media influences the formation of their professional attitudes. The study was based on a sample of 196 male and female students from the Faculty of Media and Communication. The findings revealed that the respondents use social media on a daily basis and that WhatsApp and Facebook are among the most frequently used applications. The study also found that social media contributes to the development of respondents’ professional attitudes by providing opportunities for communication and relationship-building with media institutions. In addition, social media facilitates access to books, references, and research studies, as well as the acquisition of data and information relevant to the field of media.
