Abstract

This research deals with the phenomenon of rhythmic shift in vertical poetry through a contempoeary poetic model represented by the poem(My language..and land to my mother) by the Algerian poet (Abdul Lattif bin Ahmed), the rhythmic shift, 0n both its external and internal levels, constituted a clear phenomenon in the studied text, what contributed to the rhythmic distinction of the language of the text, and the nature of the study required the use of descriptive and analytical approaches, to arrive at results that highlight the artistic and aesthetic value of the poem, the most impotant of which is the poets reliance on the full abundant meter that is rhymed with vowels and beats his repetition of some out of place rhyming words, the prevalence of repetition and some other vocal phenomena.
