The Discursive Level of the Utterance between Semantic Growth, Metalinguistic Dimensions, and Narrative Desire

Abstract

This study explores the discursive level of the utterance between semantic growth, metalinguistic dimensions, and narrative desire, highlighting the importance of linguistic discourse in shaping meaning within narrative texts. Utterances are shown not merely as linguistic units but as semantic mechanisms that evolve through context, influencing the reader and revealing dimensions of identity, memory, and selfhood. The research aims to demonstrate the role of discourse in generating meaning, to analyze narrative utterances through semiotic approaches that uncover deep structures, and to clarify the relationship between language and context as meaning shifts between literal and figurative levels. It also investigates the impact of utterances on cultural identity and collective memory. Findings indicate that narrative utterances carry cumulative and evolving meanings, that metalinguistic dimensions open interpretive horizons through implicit codes and symbols beyond direct language, and that utterances of desire reveal the intimate connection between self, city, homeland, and love—showing how individual desires intersect with collective values.
