The Question of Human Formation in Contemporary Arab Philosophical Thought: A Critical Analytical Study.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the problem of human formation in contemporary Arab philosophical thought: a critical analytical study. It sought to identify the philosophical and epistemological foundations upon which the concept of human formation is based in contemporary Arab philosophical thought. The study also analyzed how contemporary Arab thinkers and philosophers have addressed the issue of human formation and explored the most prominent philosophical visions and conceptions they have presented in this field. Furthermore, it investigated the major intellectual, social, and cultural challenges facing the project of human formation in contemporary Arab societies. Finally, it evaluated the extent to which contemporary Arab philosophical conceptions contribute to the development of an integrated project for building the Arab individual capable of keeping pace with current civilizational, cognitive, and social transformations. The study adopted the descriptive approach due to its suitability for achieving the objectives of the research. The study reached the following findings: -The concept of human formation in contemporary Arab philosophical thought is grounded in epistemological and philosophical foundations that combine the values of authenticity with the requirements of modernity, while emphasizing reason, freedom, and critical consciousness. -Contemporary Arab thinkers and philosophers have presented diverse visions of human formation based on developing awareness, promoting critical thinking, and achieving a balance between identity and cultural openness. -There are numerous intellectual, social, and cultural challenges that hinder the project of Arab human formation, most notably the identity crisis, the weakness of critical culture, and the impact of rapid global transformations. -Contemporary Arab philosophical conceptions have contributed to outlining the features of a project for building the Arab individual; however, they still require greater integration and practical implementation to address the challenges of contemporary reality.
