Morphological Affixation Phenomenon - A Descriptive Study -

Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of morphological affixation, a process governed by the inherent nature of morphological patterns and poetic meters, as well as by the evolution of linguistic sounds. The research seeks to analyze affixation as a significant morphological mechanism that has not received sufficient attention in traditional grammatical and morphological scholarship. The study concludes that affixation essentially consists of adding an element to a word, whereby the added component conforms to the pattern of the base form to which it is attached, representing a form of linguistic expansion.
