The foundations of sustainable development between theory and practice (Quranic vision)

Abstract

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, who has bestowed upon His believing servants guidance and the ability to cling to His firm rope. He has united them on the basis of truth, protected them from the evil of discord and the humiliation of failure. He has bestowed upon them brotherhood and harmony, and spared them from discord and division.
I praise Him for guiding us to the knowledge of the truth, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner. I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom He sent to show us the path that leads to Him and to warn us against following the paths of misguidance. Through him, He united hearts after division and honored us after humiliation. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family, and his companions. And after that: People’s condition in this world and their final destination cannot be right except through agreement, harmony, and avoiding discord and disagreement.
One of the solutions to resolve disagreements is drawing lots and contesting. In these pages of this research, we will discuss the linguistic and technical aspects of drawing lots and contesting, their origins, their branches, and when they occur.
