Abstract

Social media has become an almost inevitable part of language learning as mobile connectivity continues to expand worldwide, opening new avenues for students to communicate, share information, and exchange knowledge outside the classroom. This study investigates the effectiveness of platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Messenger in improving the speaking skills of English language students at the Faculty of Arts and Science. Adopting a descriptive approach, the researcher gathered data through a student questionnaire to explore learners’ perceptions of how these platforms affect their spoken English. The study concludes that social media significantly contributes to building students’ fluency and overall language proficiency, with participants showing a favorable attitude toward integrating social media into their learning experience.
