Al-Nasa'i's Authentication of Unknown Narrators (Al-Majahil): An Inductive Critical Study of Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar's Stance in "Taqrib Al-Tahdhib" in Light of Al-Jarh wa Al-Ta'dil Books.

Abstract

This research examines Imam Al-Nasa'i's methodology in authenticating certain unknown or veiled narrators and Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar's stance in "Taqrib Al-Tahdhib," utilizing an inductive, analytical, and comparative approach. It confirms that Al-Nasa'i possessed a recognized independent methodology for authenticating specific narrators, while Ibn Hajar demonstrated acute critical awareness by carefully attributing such unique authentications rather than giving unconditional approval. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that Al-Nasa'i's singular authentication serves as a strong presumption for acceptance when supported by the practical extraction of the Imams of the Sahih collections or when concerning his direct shaykhs, revealing a nuanced framework for evaluating lesser-known narrators.
