Abstract

The major aim of this research paper is to know the effects of anxiety on EFL students' performance in testing situation at the Language Center of Tripoli University. A Sample of 210 students from the language center participated in the study. Data was collected by using a questionnaire. This questionnaire aims to answer the main research question: what are the effects of anxiety on students' performance in testing situation. The collected data was analyzed by using quantitative design and discussed in relation to the research question of this paper. The findings of this paper show that there are negative effects of anxiety on students' performance in testing situation. That is, the more anxious the students are the lower they perform in test.
