Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of creative thinking skills of the students of the Faculty of Arts at Al-Ajilat at Al-Zawiya University as perceived by the students themselves, in its three dimensions: intellectual fluency, intellectual flexibility, and intellectual authenticity, in addition to revealing the differences in these skills according to the variables of gender and academic specialization. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method, and was applied to a simple random sample of (108) students from the study community of (1200) students. To collect data, use a questionnaire prepared for this purpose, and verify its veracity and stability using the truth of the arbitrators, the sincerity of the internal consistency, and the consistency coefficient (Alpha Kronbach).

The results of the study showed that the level of creative thinking skills among students came high in the dimensions of fluency, flexibility, and originality according to their self-awareness. The results also revealed the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of creative thinking attributed to the gender variable in favor of males, as well as statistically significant differences attributed to the academic specialization variable in favor of students of applied disciplines. In light of these results, the study recommended the need to develop university curricula and teaching strategies to contribute to enhancing students' creative thinking skills, and providing supportive learning environments for creativity and innovation within the university.
