Abstract

The professional competencies of kindergarten teachers constitute the cornerstone for achieving quality in early childhood education, directly impacting children's holistic development ،This systematic review aimed to analyze local, Arab, and international literature to identify essential professional competencies required and assess their availability among graduates of education colleges in Libyan universities ،The study followed the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology according to PRISMA guidelines, analyzing 20 selected studies out of 320 retrieved ،


Results revealed that professional competencies have evolved from a narrow technical concept to a multidimensional framework encompassing: Leadership Competence, Professional Competence, Social Competence, Problem-Solving Competence, and Digital Competence ،While international literature emphasizes the importance of these competencies, Libyan studies indicate a significant deficiency in their availability among graduates, particularly in leadership, digital, and cultural aspects ،The study concludes with the necessity of restructuring kindergarten teacher preparation programs in Libya to become more integrated and context-sensitive, emphasizing the importance of practical training and continuous professional development ،This review provides a reference framework for developing educational policies and teacher preparation programs in the Libyan context.
