Abstract

The research focused on studying (The Structure of Narrative Discourse in the Short Story Collection "Narvin" by Abdul Rahim Ali Buhafhouf – A Study in Light of the Structuralist Approach). The research aimed to analyze the structural dimensions of "Narvin" and clarify the linguistic interactions between characters in shaping the narrative structure. The importance of the research lies in its contribution to highlighting Libyan literature and documenting and critiquing the political and social reality. The research problem centers on how to apply the structuralist approach to the short story collection "Narvin" in order to understand the deep structure of its narrative meaning. The research relied on the structuralist method, supplemented by the semiotic approach in specific aspects . The research concluded that "Narvin" does not present itself merely as a collection of tales, but rather as a mirror reflecting the human experience in its political, social, and psychological dimensions, within a critical context that is not devoid of hope and a celebration of the human spirit. The research was divided into two sections: the first concerned itself with the theoretical framework of structuralism, while the second focused on the application of this framework to the short story collection "Narvin."
