Abstract
The novel coronavirus, called SARS-CoV-2, belongs to a widespread
family that causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe
illnesses such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). It was first
detected in Wuhan in 2019
The study aims to estimate the mortality rate according to age and health
conditions among the injured of both sexes.
This study was carried out in Abu Ghalasha Isolation Center in Zawiya City,
where data of 155 samples of both sexes and of different ages were collected
and entered the center, where the number of males was (82) by 52.9% and the
number of females was (73) by 47.1%. By analyzing the data, the results
showed that the percentage of infected males was higher than the percentage
of infected females. The percentage of males who died is also higher than that
of females, representing 21.9%, while the percentage of females who died
was 9.7%.
the results also showed that the death rate for people who suffer from chronic
diseases, the most important of which are diabetes and blood pressure, is
higher than the death rate for patients who do not suffer from these diseases.
