Abstract

The study aimed to identify the motives for the production of scientific research among a faculty member at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology, Tarhuna. The motives were economic motive, professional motive, psychological motive, social motive, and scientific motive. The data necessary to measure the variables of the study, and the study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the production of scientific research and motives in general, and the study recommended supporting the scientific research process in the implementation of concrete measures by the competent authorities that push the faculty member to produce scientific research, and among the proposed measures are to work on adopting Research submitted by a faculty member by finding magazines, periodicals,and conferences that enable him to publish his research, work on employing the results and recommendations of research conducted by a faculty member, work on honoring a faculty member who excels in his research, and work on granting advantages (material - moral) to a faculty member.
