Abstract
The research dealt with the attitudes of students of the Department of Sociology and Computer at the College of Education Al-Zawia about the concept of social support and its role in empowering people with special needs in society, in the light of the level of family social support to empower people with special needs in society, and the level of community support to empower people with special needs in community institutions. The descriptive analytical method was used, and the questionnaire was used to collect data from the research sample. The search yielded the following results; -The level of family social support to empower people with special needs in society was high. - Thelevelofcommunitysupportforempoweringpeoplewithspecialneeds in community institutions was high. -There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) about the attitudes of female students of the Department of Sociology and Computer at the College of Education, Al-Zawia, about the concept of social support to empower people with special needs in society, due to the two variables (specialization, in favor of the sample members who specialize in sociology, and the work of the mother, and in favor of the sample members who answered that their mothers work.
