The Legal Problems of the Dual Nature of the Social Security Disputes Committee in Libyan Law

Abstract

This study aims to examine the legal issues raised by the legal nature of the Social Security Disputes Settlement Committee in Libyan law. This committee, an administrative body with quasi-judicial powers, was established under the provisions of Law No. (13) of 1980 concerning Social Security. The study reveals several legal problems, most notably the duality of the committee's legal nature and jurisdiction, and the clear and glaring legislative shortcomings regarding procedural safeguards within these committees. The study concludes that a review of the legal framework governing these committees is essential.
