The Extent of Faculty Members' Commitment to Professional Ethics at the Faculty of Physical Education, Elmergib University

Abstract

This research aims to identify the extent of commitment to teaching profession ethics among faculty members at the Faculty of Physical Education, Elmergib University, from the students' perspective. The researcher utilized the descriptive-analytical approach due to its suitability for the study's objectives. The sample comprised 95 physical education students selected randomly. The main findings indicated the following: Faculty members at the Faculty of Physical Education, Elmergib University, demonstrate a high level of commitment to professional ethics in relation to the teaching profession, with an overall domain mean of approximately 4.18. The most prominent aspects of commitment to professional ethics were the faculty member's voice clarity during lectures (mean = 4.54, relative weight = 91%), followed by tracking student attendance and absence in every lecture (mean = 4.49, relative weight = 90%), and adherence to lecture schedules (mean = 4.42, relative weight = 88%). Results showed a high level of commitment to utilizing diverse teaching methods, encouraging student teamwork, adhering to lecture attendance, and delivering course content using real-world examples. The relatively lowest aspects of commitment included using diverse instructional tools such as PowerPoint and Excel (mean = 3.61, relative weight = 72%), publishing the syllabus on the electronic portal (mean = 3.63, relative weight = 73%), and updating personal web pages with learning materials and scientific research (mean = 3.77, relative weight = 75%).
