Abstract

The study aims to know the extent to which faculty members in higher institutes in the city of sirte use social networking sites such as Facebook or the purpose of learning. And what are the methods that suit the student in the education process, it also sheds light on the effectiveness of social networking sites in the learning process, the study reached the following conclusion A setoff results from them:The results of the research showed that the college averages for the areas of the degree of use of faculty members at the higher institute of science and technology in the municipality of sirte were (2.23) with a low degree of use. The arithmetic averages for the research areas ranged between(2.4–4.6), where the area of problems and obstacles that using websites. Social communication is use in technical education in first place and has a large degree of use. While the field of training and rehabilitation courses related to the use of social networking sites ranked last, with an average score of (2.4), with a low degree of use. The results also showed that there are statistically significant difference at the significance level (=0.05) in the degree of use of social networking sites, in the educational and training process due to the effect, of gender on the tool as a whole in all three areas.
